This book simplifies difficult subject matter for my daughter in nursing school. I have bought at least one for every subject she has taken.
Simple and to the point medical information
I had the luck to take Dr. Seitz's class in behavior medicine at the University of Washington School of Medicine. His text was one of our's with Wedding also for those familiar. Anyways, his book was absolutely excellent. If was great in that it was brief and to the meat of the subject. It contained many lists and acronyms which I just can't seem to avoid in behavior science. This is a great foundation book to review 1st year medical school Behavioral Science. I thought it was very readable and Dr. Seitz has even thrown in a joke here and there to keep you awake. A great book for review, and a must have for all 1st years. I wish the other Made ridiculously simples were this good. Thanks Dr. SeitzMontana WWAMI is the best
This book is good as a quick read and to cover the very basics of behavioral medicine. The chapters are short and to the point, and cover a range of topics. However, the information provided is at a very basic level, and may be more appropriate for pre-med than med school. Additionally, while the humor and silly examples used in the book may make it a more enjoyable read for those who are required to read it, or who do not have an interest in behavioral medicine, the style may serve to make light of an important and complex field that is, at times, undervalued.
This book is one of my least favorite of the "Made Ridiculously Simple" titles. I bought it for my psychiatry rotation for PA school and didn't find it that helpful. It doesn't focus enough on diagnosis and treatment of disease which is what I really needed. I shared it with a classmate and she felt the same way. I feel like it would maybe be more helpful for those in a counseling program that don't need as much of the medical information. A better choice for PA/medical students is the "Clinical Psychopharmacology" book in the same series. I found it much more informative and helpful.
