I am a die-hard Aquaman fan, so when I saw this was coming out I pre-ordered it. I had to have it. I really like the choice of cover art, and the binding. The stories collected here are also pretty eclectic. I thought there were a few too many Golden Age and Silver Age stories, those are not as fun too read, but they are very important to the history of Aquaman. Moments collected here include the first appearance of Aqualad, the wedding to Mera, and the death of Aquababy. These were all vital stories in the collection. I liked the inclusion of an issue from the 1984 mini-series where Aquaman sports his blue suit. My biggest wish for this would have been more stories from the 90s and 2000s. I wish we got more Peter David, and more of the 2004 series out of this. I also did not think this collection needed the last issue from Cullen Bunn's arc, which was a terrible arc, and should not have had representation. I would have preferred a second Geoff Johns story, or something from Jeff Parker, or if they had waited- something from Dan Abnett's new Rebirth series. Also- the info sections throughout the book, were rather poorly written, and I think they could have been better crafted. All in all though, this book is a must have, for Aquaman fans, and fans of DC comics, or just comic book fans in general.
First, count me in as one of those fans of comics who never really had any use for Aquaman. Now count me in as someone who didn't know he'd been around since the 40s! I thought he was, at best, a late 50s, early 60s hero, perhaps created just for the JLA. This collection changed my mind a bit, and i did like him in the JL movie. So does reading this make me an affirmed Aquaman fan? No, but it did give me more respect for the character.
A fantastic foundation into the history and the character of aquaman, you learn of his powers his honor, you meet his wife and his friends, this is a fantastic start to enjoying this amazing hero.
Great recopilation of Aquaman stories since the creation of the character, it includes The Jim Aparo era, wich is my favorite! Contains only single issues, not story arcs, centered on events that defined The King of the seas over the last 75 years. A must for fans of Aquaman
Aquaman is my favorite superhero! Great stories from several writers over the years. I like how Aquaman has evolved.
This was a great way to catch up on Aquaman. Some helpful guides to each incarnation yet somewhat inclomplete. I would hope there would be more Aquaman story lines gathered up in graphic novel style.
Really good collection of Aquaman comics over the years. I can not wait for movie to come out. I hope DC does not screw things up
