For those working with electricity, this resource is invaluable. Keep current on the code and have an Ugly's and you should be able to answer most every electrical question. I have known and had this reference for about 35 years now, I am pretty sure. The only thing I can think of that would serve one better, is Ugly's Master Pack! ( https://www.uglysbooks.com/ ) copy into the address bar above and go see. I recommend it.
The hard-copy of the book is great, but one more thing to carry with you. So I bought the kindle version to have on my phone.I should have checked the fine print. Why did they design the Kindle version for large screens? The equations and tables are all too small to read, you have to press-and-hold to zoom on each one of them, and even zoomed they are not very big on a phone-size screen. Very user-unfriendly, IMO. I'm having a hard time picturing anyone in my industry carrying around a tablet to view this.
This is still one of the best electrical pocket references on the market. I have kept one with me for my 20 year in the electrical field.
Obviously the point of this book in general is outstanding its the cliff notes for the NEC. However my problem is with the quality of the product it self. Hopefully I am the only one this has happened too but I was looking up something specific in the book and the page wasn't there. I guess I should have counted the pages to make sure they were all there but you also kind of trust that someone is putting out a quality product. If someone from Ugly's see this and wants to send me the missing pages is page 55 through 70. Apparently I haven't needed to look at the 3 phase transformer information that is on those pages until now....
Super handy. I do electrical engineering design work for industrial facilities and this little book is often my first reference before the code book or the internet because it's concise and laid out well. It leads me back to the applicable codes when necessary so I don't have to dig too far.
This is essential to anyone working with electricity and wiring. The only thing that would be helpful would be to add some references relating to medium voltage and substation design like bare bus ratings, overhead line ratings, medium voltage insulation data.
Lot's of formulas that are hard for the novice to remember. I bought this for the help it offers in understanding and working correctly the bends in electrical conduit. I want to use conduit and shade cloth to make shade for my boat.
Great book, have the paper version.Purchased the kindle version as well so I would have it with me all the time.The kindle version is useless to me. Just does not work well at all.Kindle version is a real pain to use at all, far easier to just buy and carry another paper copy in truck.
Took out information due to copyright violation... Did they recall all the hardcopies. Pay the people... Or rewrite the information
